Accepting New Clients

Anna Jongeleen is a Registered Clinical Counselor, Psychotherapist, Art Therapist, and Group Supervisor at EHC/JFSE. She immigrated from Israel to Canada in 2014 and has been with JFSE since 2017. At the core of Anna’s therapeutic approach are five essential developmental needs: Connection, Attunement, Trust, Autonomy, and Love-Sexuality. These needs support self-regulation, self-worth, self-confidence, and the ability to be authentic and fully present with oneself and others.

With over 20 years of experience, she specializes in working with individuals, couples (including polyamorous, 2SLGBTQIA+ relationships), families, and youth across all genders, sexual orientations, culture and ethnic backgrounds. Anna holds a BA in Humanities, an MA in Counselling Psychology, and an MPS in Art Therapy and Spirituality. She has contributed to the field through teaching and co-facilitating at institutions such as the University of Alberta’s St. Stephen’s College, Eating Disorder Support Network Alberta, the University of Alberta Hospital within Addictions and Mental Health and various institutes in Israel. Her research on treating complex trauma and eating disorders using somatic psychotherapy approaches has been published and presented at various national and international conferences.

Anna’s approach to therapy is integrative and client-centered, drawing from diverse modalities she is trained in such as Integrated Sex and Relationship Therapy (ISTI) , Complex Trauma Therapy (FOT), Somatic Psychotherapy (SE), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Child and Family Counseling (FOCT), Play and Sand Tray Therapy , Grief Counselling, Art Therapy (AT) and Mindfulness. Anna believes that with the right tools and support, we can build a nourishing connection with ourselves, heal from unresolved experiences and create supportive relationships with others.
