Registered Provisional Psychologist
Heather is a Registered Provisional Psychologist specializing in grief and loss. She strives to help clients find ways to heal and discover their own strengths along their journeys and believes her role as a therapist is to shine a light into the darkness so you can choose your path forward.
Heather earned her Master of Counselling degree from City University in Canada in 2023, where her research focused on understanding asexuality. She has completed additional professional development in the areas of grief, trauma, and working with neurodiverse individuals. Heather has previous experience advocating for mental health and disability inclusion in workplaces and through community organizations.
Heather relies on a strength-based and client-centered approach to therapy, incorporating modalities such as Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered/Humanistic Therapy, Existentialism, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Heather works with adults of all ages experiencing:
· Grief and bereavement
· Palliative and life-limiting conditions
· Life transitions
· Exclusion, loneliness, or relationship challenges
· Workplace issues
Outside of her professional work, Heather enjoys reading, baking, knitting, and sewing. She is most often found in conversations with friends and family or curled up under a blanket with her cat, Sam.
